Leading EdTech Conference ASU GSV Summit to Feature Panel on Income Share Agreements; Vemo Education CEO Tonio DeSorrento to be Panelist

RESTON, VIRGINIA (April 15, 2016) – Vemo Education, an education technology company working with U.S. colleges and universities to develop and service income-based student financing programs, announced today that CEO Tonio DeSorrento will be a featured panelist during a session on income share agreements (ISAs) at next week’s ASU GSV Summit in San Diego.

Noted by The New York Times as “the must-attend event for educational technology investors,” ASU GSV is an annual conference organized by Arizona State University and GSV Capital, an investment firm.  Venture capitalists, education company executives, university presidents and policymakers will gather together for the three-day event April 18-20.  Keynote speeches include ones by notable figures such as Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and former U.S. Secretary of State Condolezza Rice.  Over 2000 guests are expected to attend.

This year, USA Funds has joined forces with ASU GSV to offer programming during the conference aimed at examining college value.  Included in that programming is the session titled “Income Share Agreements: Connecting Education to Employment through Financing.”  Featured as a panelist and considered one of the foremost experts on income share agreements and income-based payment programs in the U.S., DeSorrento will help address the key questions that are informing the policy and academic debate on ISAs, discuss potential barriers to the development of a well-functioning ISA market and examine examples of ISA models currently in the marketplace.  Moderated by Kevin James, the Director of Higher Education for the Jain Family Institute, the panel will also feature Beth Akers of The Brookings Institution and Andrew Davis of Education Equity.

The ASU GSV Summit is sold out for 2016.  For more information on the event or to be added to this year’s wait list, visit www.asugsvsummit.com.
